January 14, 2021

We continue, as we have been all along, to be available to serve our clients.  With the new provincial stay-at-home order, as of 12:01 am Thursday January 14th, 2021, we are again adapting business to do as much as we can to comply with the new guidelines.

Providing advice and service in these uncertain times is of the utmost importance to us, but doing so in the most responsible way is equally important. So, although we have been working largely via email, phone and virtually for several months now, we are again officially closing our (physical) office effective immediately.

We will continue to provide support remotely – by phone, by email, and through virtual meetings.

We are still working for you! If there is something that we need to get from you in hard copy, please contact us and we will make arrangements. Our phones will be forwarded so you will still be able to reach us, and we will do our best to live answer your calls. If that is not possible, we will get back to you.

As all of you are, we also are looking forward to getting back to business as usual, but in the meantime, we will continue to do the absolute best we can for you. As always, we truly appreciate your business and your understanding during these challenging times, and we will continue to provide the advice and support that you have come to expect and deserve.

Our continued best wishes for good health to everyone.

June 29, 2020

With the increase in COVID-19 case numbers in Kingston, effective June 27, 2020 KFL&A Public Health issued new requirements concerning face coverings. Secura’s office is not currently open to the public so neither our clients or staff are required to wear masks in our building.

That said, we are continuing to be vigilant to protect the health and safety both our clients and staff. Going forward, when you are greeted at our office our staff will be wearing a mask, and you will be asked to answer the following questions:

Have you or anyone in your household:
1) Been tested for, exposed to, or acquired COVID-19 that you are aware of?
2) Been exposed to or cared for anyone who has?
3) Travelled outside of Canada or Ontario in the past 14 days?
4) In the last 14 days experienced: fever, dry cough, unexplained tiredness, difficulty breathing, chest pain or loss of speech or movement?

If you answer ‘No’ to all, you will be allowed to enter the office and your name will be added to a register of all people entering our building. If your answers indicate that there may be heightened risk to your entry, you will be asked to leave and to contact our office by phone instead.

As always, you are more than welcome to wear a mask during your meeting, and this can be discussed with your advisor directly.

Secura Financial Group specializes in providing superior service to our clients, a large part of this can be the personal contacts that we have with you.

The COVID-19 Pandemic has presented a challenge to our traditional way of providing our client experience. But it has also opened the opportunity for us to provide service in ways that may save a visit to our office for some people. Virtual meetings have proven to be very effective and we encourage this form of meeting if possible. Social distancing has proven very successful in Canada and it is our intent to continue this within our business.
We continue to be closed to drop-ins, but are slowly re-introducing face to face meetings.

Existing Clients: Secura Financial Group is in the midst of a controlled re-opening to onsite visits. We are back to being fully staffed in office, as our space is very conducive to working with proper physical distancing. Given the low volume of COVID-19 cases in our region, we are slowly getting back to face-to-face meetings where there is benefit in doing so. Please contact our office (613.548.1884) or your advisor to discuss whether an onsite or virtual meeting is more appropriate.

New Clients: If you are not a client of Secura Financial Group we can provide a telephone consultation. Either call us at 613.548.1884 or email us at info@securafinancialgroup.com. We can then discuss appropriate next steps and make arrangements to help with your planning.

On-Site Safety Precautions:
For those coming to the office, we have strict measures for your safety, that of other clients, and that of our staff. Please feel free to bring and wear a mask if you feel more comfortable doing so, and we have ample hand sanitizer available in our office for your use. We are being very strict in our social distancing so please come no earlier than 5 min before your appointment to allow us to manage our reception area. Meeting areas are sanitized between each appointment. In the 2 weeks leading up to your appointment if you (or someone you have been in close contact with) have a fever, cough, or feel unwell, please call and let us know.

Wishing you and your families a safe, healthy summer,

Jeff and Pat

Dear valued clients,

We understand that the growing concern around COVID-19 has everyone feeling uneasy, especially as each of us face more changes to our daily routines and future plans. We are reaching out to you today, to let you know that we at Secura feel it too, and that we are here to help.

On a personal level, we know that your main priorities are keeping your families safe and healthy while dealing with disruptions to your daily life - disruptions that seemed unimaginable a few weeks ago. Dealing with unexpected school, daycare and university closures, travel suspensions, eldercare, and possibly loss of incomes or jobs is stressful for everyone.

Like you, at Secura we are doing our best to navigate these uncertain times as they continue to evolve. We are taking the advice and counsel of respected authorities like Canada’s Chief Medical Officer and local public health authorities, and making adjustments to how we work and conduct business day-to-day.

Providing advice and service in these uncertain times is of the utmost importance to us, but doing so in the most responsible way is equally important. So, although we have been working largely via email, phone and virtually since our last update 10 days ago, we are officially closing our (physical) office effective immediately.

We will continue to provide support remotely - by phone, by email, and through virtual meetings.

We are still working for you! If there is something that we need to get from you in hard copy, please contact us and we will make arrangements. Our phones will be forwarded so you will still be able to reach us, and we will do our best to live answer your calls. If that is not possible, we will get back to you.

We truly appreciate your business and your understanding during these trying times, and we will continue to provide the advice and support that you have come to expect and deserve.

We continue to encourage you to stay home, wash your hands, and practice social distancing.

Our sincere and best wishes for good health to everyone.

Dear Secura Clients,

As we are all well aware, we are living through something different than any of us has ever experienced. It’s frightening and we all want to do the right thing and what is best for everyone. At Secura, we do our very best to always act with a client first mentality, but this has never really been from a perspective of health. Although we would likely not be considered an essential service (so at some point staying open may not be up to us), we do believe that the service we provide, especially during these unique times, can be extremely important and possibly urgent.

So while we feel it is critical to limit personal contact and do everything possible to curb the spread of this virus, we feel it is extremely important to remain available to you, our clients, for your investment, cash flow and insurance needs. With all this considered, we are implementing a skeleton staff, effective immediately. This will allow us to continue to provide the level of service that you deserve and have come to expect from us, while at the same time doing what we can to limit personal contact. We will continue to answer the phone and respond to you in a timely manner, and have someone to greet you at our office to help as required. We do ask for your help in protecting our staff and other clients, so if you have any indication that you are not perfectly healthy, or you have come in contact with someone who may be carrying an illness, please connect with us by phone or by email and avoid personal visits to our office.

As always, your advisor is available to help, please feel free to reach out to us by phone or email and we will be more than happy to help in any way we can. We hope that this is the extent of the adjustments we will need to make, but as you can appreciate, we will continuously review and modify based on new information and any additional guidance from the federal and provincial governments.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

We wish all of you the very best in these uncertain times.

Let’s all do our part…Stay healthy.
